We believe in the power of collaboration and the strength of community, which is why we go the extra mile to ensure that everyone who reaches Jamie’s Sanctuary receives the help they deserve.Â
If for any reason we are unable to offer the specific support required, we are committed to signposting individuals to other incredible charities that specialise in the area of concern.Â
Our dedication to helping others goes beyond our own capabilities. We have cultivated a network of trusted organisations and resources that cover a wide range of support services. Whether it’s mental health, housing, addiction, or any other vital area of need, we have carefully vetted and selected charities that are ready to step in and provide the necessary assistance.Â
Jamie’s Sanctuary understands that navigating the complex landscape of support services can be overwhelming. That’s why our knowledgable team is here to lend a compassionate ear, offer guidance, and connect individuals with the appropriate charities that can offer tailored support.Â
We firmly believe that everyone desrves access to the help they require, even if we are not the ones to provide it directly. By working together and collaborating with other reputable charities, we ensure that no one is left behind on their journed toward healing and transformation.Â
Neil’s Hugs Foundation was set up by Donna Paterson-Harvie, who lost her only child Neil to suicide. You can find her story on their website. While supporting her son through his attempts on his life and later his death, she was never offered any support relevant to the situation and wanted to change that for other families.Â
Donna strongly believes that early intervention for poor mental health is key to helping people in the community and that is why they offer a safe, confidential space to talk and aim to reduce isolation and support those who need it most.Â
They are not a registered counseling service but offer space to support those who are struggling. They offer support with mental ill-health through community support groups or !:1 support in West Lothian and Clackmannanshire. They encourage people to come together, talk about how they are feeling and support each other. They also support families and friends who have loved ones with suicidal ideations, which is so important because they need to look after their own mental well-being to feel strong enough.Â
In addition, they offer support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide, reducing isolation, breaking down stigma and allowing them to be with people who truly understand their grief.Â
Neil’s Hughs Foundation work with local schools, colleges, councils, charities, prisons, businesses and many more to raise awareness and allow a safe space to talk about mental ill-health. They facilitate various training sessions to empower people in the community and recognise signs that someone may be struggling with mental ill-health and’or considering suicide to be their only option.Â

Kick Mental Health are a peer-support group who use both physical and virtual activities with the aim to help people, within the local communities, struggling with poor mental health, loneliness and any other problems they face in today’s current cost of living crisis.Â
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening, they run free football sessions within the central belt of Scotland – open to anyone above the age of 16 who feel they would benefit from getting out the house. If you are interested but don’t have access to appropriate footwear, you can message them directly and they can provide football boots via their community boot bank.Â
Kick Mental Health is not all about football – every Thursday night at *:30pm they have a weekly check-in via zoom, where you can log in and have a chat in a very supportive and relaxed environment from the comfort of your own home. They also have a WhasApp support group that people can use if they feel necessary.Â
At Andy’s Man Club, they want to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and create a judgment-free confidential space where men can be open about the storms in their lives. They achieve this through weekly, free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups for men over the age of 18.Â
#ThatOneMan is their promise to you, their volunteers, their attendees, and their supporters, that no matter how quickly they grow, how many awards they win, how many partnerships they strike up, or how many clubs they open – they will always remain true to their original goal – to be able to provide support to #ThatOneMan in his time of need and help him see that his tomorrow can be better than his today.Â
